Open

You encouraged me in my failure
You promised you support everything I am building, but still questioned if we really need it
You expected the walls to crumble just as much as I did
But were you surprised when they didn’t?
Because you didn’t even show up for the opening ceremony

You see, that’s the difference between you me
You can count on me
The numbers have been tattooed on my back by the knife you hold in your hand
And today they grow higher

You’re flaky like my breakfast
And frankly I can’t stomach you anymore
I am closing this door
I’d like to say you’re not welcome here
But my sign is always lit up, “open”

What can I say?
I just feel a little broken
My heart is sad
But here’s to hopin’
You’ll do better next time…
