Not a Princess

I am not a princess.
I do not come from a royal line.
My dad is not a king, my mother definitely not a queen.
I don’t need a prince to rescue me from any high tower.

I am not a princess.
I can open my own doors
Carry my own things
Buy my own coffee.

I am not a princess.
I am not weak.
I do not fear dragons, I adore them.
And high heels hurt my feet.

I am not a princess.
I need no fairy god-mother.
I can stay out after midnight if I want to.
I expect no knights warring for my attention.

I am not a princess.
My face is not one of perfection,
My eyes are not searching for the nearest mirror,
My heart will stay un-captured.
